ActivityWatch has passed 1 million downloads. The desktop app’s GitHub Releases alone now count over 1.18 million, and that doesn’t include package managers, distro repositories, Google Play, or F-Droid. We didn’t mark the moment when it happened, so this is us catching up.

ActivityWatch is free, open source, and stores your data on your own machine. It has been built mostly by volunteers, so a number like this means a lot to us. Thank you to every user, and to every contributor who has written code, watchers, translations, docs, or bug reports.

What’s next

The stable desktop release, v0.14, is what we’re preparing now. On mobile, ActivityWatch for Android 0.14 just went stable, with sync, alerts, and a large batch of crash fixes.
